Fedup Federation for the Urban and Rural Poor
FedUP mobilises urban poor communities through savings. It has over 700 affiliates in informal settlements and urban poor neighbourhoods in cities and towns in all nine provinces. FedUP has been able to secure tenure for more than 25,000 families and has facilitated the creation of grassroots housing associations that have constructed over 15,000 formal houses.

CORC was established in March 2002 to work with grassroots networks of the Urban and Rural Poor to respond to needs and priorities that have been articulated by these networks including: ecotourism, sustainable land use, land claims and sustainable rural and urban development.

SDI is an international umbrella body linking savings-based social movements of the global South. SDI has contributed significantly to the eradication of urban poverty and the improvement of the lives of millions of slum dwellers. Through judicious financial, technical and strategic support, it has bridged the gap between communities of the urban poor and other important stakeholders involved in urban development at international, national and city level.

PEP is a relatively small NGO that has been involved with affordable housing for the poorest of the poor? for the past 6 years. Although based in Cape Town, South Africa, we have worked throughout the country and have links with a variety of international organisations involved in similar programmes. PEP is a registered organisation that relies on international donor funding for the implementation of its various activities.
